Our lesson program combines learning riding skills along with horsemanship. We pride ourselves on teaching responsibility, discipline, coordination and good sportsmanship in a friendly and safe atmosphere. Lessons at Fox Run provide the opportunity to meet new friends of all ages who also share a love of horses. Your lesson can be as relaxing or competitive as you like with an emphasis on safety. We encourage students to learn how to work with horses while on the ground and on their backs. Students learn to correctly halter, groom, tack up, ride and care for horses during the lesson program with the goal being to someday independently manage or own a horse.
We offer private, semi private and group lessons (maximum class size 5) for the beginner, intermediate and advanced rider in both Western and English disciplines. Students under 6 must be evaluated before acceptance in our program. Instructors are CHA certified and have 40 years combined experience showing, training, teaching and riding horses.
Lessons are available Monday-Friday and Saturday mornings by request. Please call our ban to set up your initial visit/lesson and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule!

Cassie Zimmerman is a very talented and knowledgeable level 3 CHA riding instructor. She began her riding career at age 10 and has continued to advance her equestrian skills through a variety of English riding clinics and camps. Her showing career began at age 13. She was the Missouri Hunter/Jumper Organization (MOHJO) Limited Rider champion in 2009. Since then she has continued to show competitively and has won may more champion ribbons. We are so proud to have her as part of the Fox Run Instructor team!
Meghan Glenn has ridden for many years and loves helping new riders meet their goals! Meghan prides herself on building a strong foundation of horsemanship and equestrian skills in our young new riders. Her calm and positive demeanor, and history working in education make her an excellent instructor.
Julie Hatheway first obtained an interest in horses at a very early age. She began taking lessons at age five, and in her later childhood, took lessons at Fox Run. As Julie has continued to work with horses, her passion has continued to grow. She is now the proud owner of three beautiful horses, but has owned four in her lifetime. Julie is grateful to share her love of horses and help new riders pursue their dreams just as she did her own.

Fox Run Program Policies
1. Approved helmets must be worn by all students when they are mounted. Fox Run will provide helmets and boots for those who do not have their own, but Fox Run cannot guarantee proper fit of all loaned helmets and boots. We strongly suggest that regular students of any age buy their own helmet and proper riding attire, including boots with a heel.
2. Not all lessons will be taught on horseback. Classroom and “in the barn instruction are part of our riding school program.
3. Students should be punctual and arrive to lessons on time. Allow an additional 10 minutes following lesson to properly groom and cool out the horse, clean all equipment and return to proper place.
